From My Tho, you will take a boat to go over the Tien River before getting to Ben Tre Island. You will get an insight on rural life on the Mekong Delta when crossing sand barges and sampan fishing boats. You will stop at Phoenix Islet- where you have chance to witness the process of making coconut rice paper and handicrafts made from coconut shells of local families. When getting to Tan Thach, you will experience your journey of 8 km ride by bicycle through the coconut groves and remote villages and observe rustic life of the Mekong locals. On a tiny tributary of the Tien River, you will enjoy traditional lunch of Viet Nam. After that, you will take a boat which full of Mekong style boats with sand, fruit, fish and coconuts. This is a great chance for those who want to explore cottage industries that trade in coconuts as well as traditional salt making workshop, a grass mat weaving hamlet and a brick kiln factory. It is a real trip providing activities of rural Vietnamese life. You will come back Ho Chi Minh City at the end of the afternoon. |
